What is Hockey 5s?

Hockey 5s is a hockey variant which features five players on each team (including a goalkeeper).

There is no penalty circle nor penalty corners and shots can be taken from anywhere inside the attacking half of the field. Penalty strokes are replaced by a "challenge" which is like the one-on-one method used in a penalty shoot-out. The rules are simpler and is intended to make the game faster, creating more shots on goal with less play in midfield making it more attractive to spectators.
